The wall between the bedroom and bathroom

The wall between the bathroom and bedroom is finally in place. We have been cooling the great outdoors. Hope this helps.

Bathtub

The bathtub is sitting in place. Hayden is ready to try it out. Of course, he loves the buttons.

Hayden helping Granddaddy

Hayden helping Frank hang drywall. He loves power tools too.

Interior walls are up.

Roof is done!

The roof is on and it is a beautiful thing.

Roofing

Please don't rain. Frank and Taylor are tying the roof for the bathroom into the existing room. Luckily the rain is holding off so far.

New "hue" in the master bedroom

Where the sliding glass door used to be is now blue board. Creates a nice blue hue for ambiance.
Frank and Sam worked in the rain ALL day on Saturday.

The walls are up

Frank, Sam and Taylor got the walls up on Friday afternoon.

The bathroom walls are pre-fab'd

Frank pre-fab'd the 3 outer bathroom walls last weekend so he could be ready to roll over the 3 day weekend.

The painting continues in Christy's office

They say lavendar is an inspirational color. I sure hope so, because my office is now "lavendar lipstick"!

color on the walls

The house is taking on our (Christy's) personality! This is the after for the guest bedroom.

Christy is obsessed with painting!

The trim and the walls blend together...boring beige. Slowly but surely we are getting the trim painted and adding a little color to the walls. This is the before picture for the guest bedroom.

New door in Master Bedroom

So the new door is in and the sliding glass door will be coming out. There will be a pocket door leading into the new bathroom.

New door in the Master Bedroom

Progress is being made! Frank, Sam and Taylor got the new door in the master bedroom in. It's looking great.

Frank is obsessed with weeds

One way or another Frank will conquer the weeds!

Ellen was confirmed April 21.
Christy, Ellen's friend and sponsor-Vickie, Ellen, and Frank
Taylor, Sam, and I laid the blocks - 87 of them. They came out OK. I'll get a real mason to lay the bricks. Brian and I framed the floor joists. Santa came early and brought me a set of four nail guns and a compressor. It's hard to find straight lumber these days...
Taylor and I poured the footer. It was right at 2 cubic yards. They put fiber in it for reinforcement. We had to wheel it in from the truck on the driveway.
We had to dig down and tie into the existing footer. Funny thing is the existing footer is about 8" thick and the new footer has to be 12" thick per the building code. I guess the bathroom is going to end up holding up the house...
We're working on the house again. After all the fun we had last year converting some attic space to Ellen's bedroom we're adding a master bath off the back of the house this year. We tore all the brick off and most of the deck. Taylor and I dug the footer. Someone asked if we dug it by hand and I said, "Heck no, we used shovels." :-)
